THE DEXTRESS

Kay doesn’t come to the office, doesn’t sleep, she hardly eats. The reason? The DVDs in Nairobi are cheaper than avocados (about 1 euro). So, if you are bored, or sick, or tired, the thing to do, is to get yourself a nice, fresh season of any American series. It’s cheap, it’s everywhere to buy and it’s entertaining. Among all possible TV shows boys decide to get the full package of Dexter (5 seasons). And that is a huge mistake, cause Kay gets swollen. Kay’s addiction seems to be harmless at first, but soon enough Jay & Dave notice some bizarre behaviors of hers: starring at knives, speaking about blood… if the want to feel safe again, they need to act, and as Kay’s birthday is approaching they get a brilliant idea. They decide to canalize Kay’s ‘killer instincts’ into something more secure and productive. To accomplish that, they will have to sacrifice their hair, and buy a cake… in a shape of a big heart.

EPISODE 4 - KINGALI FASHION WEEK

It’s girls time as the biggest fashion event of the season is going to take place in the capital of Rwanda. For Kay it’s a true Kingali Fashion Week. Africa has enormous textile production and all the kangas and katangas are crazy with colors and patterns that you can never see in Europe. For boys however, it’s home-alone time. Happy at first that Kay ahd left and they can do whatever they want, soon enough they have to admit it: they miss him. And as Jeri and Kay are fighting for most of the time, when they are in the same room, Jeri sees a chance to make peace, if he will pick Kay up from the airport alone, so he tricks Dave telling him wrong hour of Kay’s arrival. And while Dave makes himself all shiny and fresh at the barber, Jay heads alone to the airport with something special prepared to welcome Kay back in Nairobi.

EPISODE 3 - FOOTBALL KATANDA

Football in Kenya is big! Even more, football in Kenya is larger than life! Everything that succeeds in happening in Kenya is literally for football, because of football or through it. And David is about to find out about it. By pure coincidence, or maybe by hint of pure luck he starts a half-professional football career with the Rangers, the premiere league Kenyan team. This team in Kenya equals Bayern Munich in Germany. So is he waking up every morning at 5 am to go for a training? Yes. Is he working his ass off at the trainings? Yes. Is he happy like a kid to do it? Hell, yeah. And no matter what Jeri and Kay think about covering him at work, thinking of million new excuses why he is again late at the office, they have to support Dave’s passion. After all it’s all about the team spirit…

EPISODE 2 - HIT THE ROAD J!

Two Plus One manage to buy their own Matatu and so they are ready to hit the town.  Jeri as a driver, Dave as a finance manager and Kay as THE entrepreneur. While riding around Nairobi, they manage to notice slightly different architectural styles among some of the districts (heavy palaces behind barbered wire contrast with the light slum-corrugated-sheet-huts constructions). They’re also facing a problem, that is a pain in the neck of every metropolis - traffic jams. Nairobi however has a small twist - cars don’t stand on traffic lights (no one pays attention to a subtle difference between red and green light), the vehicles are stuck trying to push through (with minimal car smashing included). Common business bonds the two plus one team. In the same time Dave receives a great career offer, that includes his legs…

EPISODE 1 - HERE WE GO!

Jeri, Kay & Dave arrive to Nairobi. They get to know each other, their personalities, faults and virtues. In the same time they are facing first challenges that come with living in a foreign country. They biggest problem is not the lack of running water, the dust or even lack of anonymity. What is the biggest issue for the two plus one team, is the transportation. Matatus are like crowded, driven by mad-men discotheques and with Jeri loving depressing music (in Matatus you can only enjoy the joly-boomy-disco-style-tacky-hit songs), Dave being an extremely cautious driver (no seat-belts in Matatus) and Kinga not liking being ripped off the money just because she is new arrival in town (the charges for the Matatus are being fixed in a mysterious and inexplicable way) the two plus one decide to do something about it…
